It's uncharacteristic for Darren to make himself the centre of attention, but this year he decided he wanted to have a birthday gathering. So, yesterday a bunch of us met up at the BP's near Chez Darren to make a bit of a fuss.

We had our dinner (Maria tried the Perogy Pizza) - eyes darting to the television screens to more Olympic highlights - and ordered dessert. Before that arrived, our server helped me make this surprise: Sparklers on cup cakes!
Very glad Darren planned this get together. It was great to see some old friends and catch up on what was going on - and have cake!
