It's a sprain. But just to be sure... I was sent for an X-ray.
Since I still had the borrowed car from Dad, going to the doctor and then the diagnostic imaging site didn't seem like a problem. But I was still thinking in fully-mobile terms.
Parking close, but not in the disability parking zone, the walk to the Northgate Health Centre was manageable. People were nice, opening doors for me, and I got the X-ray done on the second floor with little fuss. However, leaving was something else.
Both down escalators were out of service. A fact I found out only after laboriously walking from one set to the other.
I headed toward the elevators as indicated by the signs and pass a number of people with crutches like me. Definitely more practised, they practically zoom by... and then I see them again. I started thinking we're just circling the place trying to find a way out.
Eventually, I do get back to the car. It was down to the main floor, and then across the mall again since I was parked on the other side. I was sweating from the effort and frustration, and baffled by how long it took.
To think people go through this every day.
I'm not looking forward to going into work tomorrow. But I know it'll be fine once I get past the commute.
